New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara, Cincinnati Bengals comeback Chris Lammons, and two other men have been indicted by a Clark County grand jury on charges of conspiracy to commit battery that resulted in substantial bodily harm.
The lawsuit alleges that Kamara boasted to one of his associates about the assault, claiming that he had hit the victim’s jaw with significant force.
In addition, it asserts that Kamara pursued Greene down the hallway, repeatedly striking him until he fell to the ground. At the same time, Greene refrained from responding in any way during the assault by Kamara or his accomplices.
Kamara and Lammons played in the 2022-2023 seasons.
According to the victim, Darnell Greene, he was waiting outside an elevator at Drai’s nightclub alongside a group of people, including the four suspects.
When the elevator doors opened, Kamara put his hand on the victim’s chest to stop him from entering the elevator.
After the victim pushed Kamara’s hand off his chest, Kamara shoved him before Lammons punched Greene and knocked him back against a wall.
According to the indictment, while Darnell Greene was lying on the floor of a narrow hallway, Alvin Kamara continued to strike and punch him with his right hand.
Percy Harris joined in by kicking him about the head, neck, and upper body area after attempting to pull their co-defendants off of Greene briefly.
Christopher Lammons re-engaged by kicking Greene about the body, and Darrin Young delivered at least one kick and stomp to his lower body.
The prosecution also claims that the four men left the scene to avoid capture. Alvin Kamara was arrested on February 6, 2022.
Greene has filed a civil lawsuit in Louisiana, asking for $10 million in damages. Videos and an audio recording was taken in an SUV after the reported assault have not been released.
The civil lawsuit includes still images from surveillance video and transcription of the recording.
According to the lawsuit, Kamara allegedly boasted to a member of his group about the assault, claiming that he had struck the victim’s jaw with great force.
The lawsuit also claims that Kamara chased Greene down the hallway and hit him multiple times until he fell to the ground. At the same time, Greene did not retaliate during the attack against Kamara or his accomplices.
An NFL spokesperson said, “We continue to monitor all legal developments in the matter which remains under review of the personal conduct policy.”
