When Cadbury confirmed it was brining back Caramilk it understandably sparked a frenzy among chocolate lovers — mainly because when it was launched last year, it’s time on shelves was short-lived.

But now Caramilk fans have another reason to get excited.

Five words: Cadbury Caramilk Philadelphia cream cheese.

Yes, that’s right, it’s a thing.

You can thank one keen shopper who discovered the $4 gem on supermarket shelves.

“Woolworths, in with the other cream cheeses,” she said when asked just where she found the Holy Grail.

“We ate it today as soon as it came into the store … amazing!!” one person commented.

“Hold my beer and give me a spoon!!” another added.

Others have since taken to the Facebook page Markdown Addicts Australia to also share the home baker’s dream, with some posts raking in more than 700 likes and nearly 1000 shares.

“This would be so good for cheesecake, ” an excited Facebook user commented.

“OMG. Tell me this is in stock,” asked another.

Unfortunately, it’s not a forever thing.

A Woolworths spokesperson confirmed to news.com.au it’s only available for a limited time only.

“Following on from Australia’s obsession with Cadbury Caramilk, we’re proud to offer Philadelphia’s special edition Caramilk inspired cream cheese,” the spokesperson said.

“Exclusive to Woolworths, you’ll find it in our fridges now for a limited time only.”

It appears Aussies really love their Caramilk — in fact, the sought-after block of chocolate officially hits shelves today.

“We’ve listened to the tens of thousands of Aussies asking us to bring Cadbury Caramilk back,” Cadbury marketing manager Katrina Watson said.

“We couldn’t ignore their passion for our golden chocolate block, so we’re proud to be bringing it back.”

Speculation first emerged last month that Cadbury would be resurrecting Caramilk.

Jamie from The Grocery Geek — an independent Australian products review group — told news.com.au she’d been reliably tipped off Caramilk would be back very soon.

“Originally, we were advised by one of our contacts within Cadbury and this was also confirmed by a couple of our contacts within the grocery retail sector,” Jamie said.

Cadbury’s Caramilk, a hybrid caramel and white chocolate bar, was part of the chocolate brand’s line-up in New Zealand and Australia until it was discontinued in 1994.

It arrived back in Australian supermarkets for a limited run in early 2018, however blocks of the precious golden chocolate were hard to come by.
